Our technicians regularly serve homes in areas like Old Decatur, Point Mallard Estates, Priceville, and Burningtree, helping families maintain reliable indoor comfort all year.

Air Conditioning Repair in Decatur
Summer temperatures in Morgan County frequently climb into the 90s with heavy humidity, placing a constant workload on your cooling system.
Homeowners searching for AC repair near them often call us when they notice:
-
AC blowing warm or humid air
-
Uneven temperatures between rooms
-
Weak airflow from vents
-
Frozen evaporator coils
-
Outdoor condenser unit not turning on
Many systems fail because of problems that build up slowly:
-
Dirty condenser coils reducing heat transfer
-
Low refrigerant from small leaks
-
Faulty capacitors preventing compressor startup
-
Clogged filters restricting airflow
In neighborhoods with older homes near the Bank Street–Old Decatur Historic District, HVAC systems sometimes struggle because older ductwork wasn’t designed for modern high-efficiency equipment.
Proper diagnostics ensure we fix the actual cause of the issue, not just the symptoms.
Emergency AC Repair When You Need It Most
Air conditioners tend to break during the hottest days of the year.
If your AC fails completely, indoor temperatures can climb quickly, especially in homes with large windows or attic spaces.
We provide emergency AC repair services for situations like:
-
Compressor failure
-
Electrical system faults
-
Refrigerant leaks
-
Frozen evaporator coils shutting down the system
Quick repairs restore cooling and prevent additional damage to expensive HVAC components.
Furnace and Heater Repair in Decatur
While North Alabama winters are relatively mild, cold nights still require a reliable heating system.
We repair all types of heating equipment including:
-
Gas furnaces
-
Electric furnaces
-
Heat pumps
-
Dual-fuel HVAC systems
Signs you may need furnace repair near you include:
-
Furnace blowing cool air
-
Short cycling (turning on and off frequently)
-
Unusual odors during operation
-
Loud noises from the blower motor
Many Decatur homes rely on heat pumps instead of gas furnaces, especially in newer developments where electric systems are more common.
Heat Pump Repair and Service
Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by transferring heat between indoor and outdoor environments.
Because they operate year-round, they experience more wear than traditional systems.
Homeowners often call for heat pump repair when they notice:
-
Ice forming on the outdoor unit
-
High electric bills
-
System running constantly without reaching the set temperature
Homes in Decatur often experience higher humidity and corrosion exposure, which can shorten the lifespan of outdoor HVAC components if maintenance is ignored.
AC Replacement and HVAC System Installation
Eventually, repairs become less cost-effective than replacing the system.
Modern HVAC systems offer significant improvements in:
-
Energy efficiency (SEER2 ratings)
-
Quiet operation
-
Humidity control
-
Smart thermostat integration
When we install a new HVAC system, we evaluate:
-
Home size and layout
-
Duct system performance
-
Insulation levels
-
Airflow balancing
Proper system sizing prevents issues like short cycling or uneven cooling.
HVAC Maintenance for Decatur Homes
Preventative maintenance is the most effective way to avoid sudden breakdowns.
Routine service includes:
-
Cleaning condenser coils
-
Checking refrigerant levels
-
Inspecting electrical connections
-
Calibrating thermostats
-
Testing airflow and duct pressure
Because Decatur sits near the Tennessee River and Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, pollen and outdoor debris can accumulate quickly in HVAC systems during spring and fall.
Regular maintenance helps keep airflow strong and improves indoor air quality.

Job Locations and Reviews
Arrived on job and performed a full diagnostic evaluation of the system. Upon inspection, found the outdoor condensing unit has a failed compressor and is not operating properly at this time. Verified electrical components and confirmed compressor failure through testing. Spoke with customer regarding findings and explained that the outdoor unit will need to be replaced to restore proper system operation. Will need to pick up replacement outdoor unit from M&A Supply and return to complete installation. System remains down at this time pending replacement and repair completion.
Installed heat pump in air handler with April wire filtration. New pad, disconnect and drain pan. Pulled vacuum down below 500 microns after pressure testing. Adjusted sub cooling to 10 degrees and made sure unit was draining. System cooling properly upon departure.
Arrived on site and performed a full inspection of the pool system. During diagnostic testing, found the system was not operating properly due to abnormal system pressures on both the high and low sides. After further evaluation, discovered a restriction in the TXV/TXV bulb assembly located inside the evaporator coil, which is preventing proper refrigerant flow and overall system performance. Ordered the replacement TXV through Johnstone Supply in Pelham with an estimated arrival date of Thursday. Spoke with the customer about scheduling return service for either Friday or the following week to complete repairs and install the new component. Customer fully understands the situation and agreed with the plan moving forward. While on site, also inspected the duct system and upstairs HVAC system. Found the existing ductwork to be in very poor condition due to age and deterioration. The system currently has old duct board runouts, and much of the ductwork is extremely fragile and beginnin
Arrived on site and performed a comprehensive inspection of the HVAC system, including all major components and overall operation. During the evaluation, it was found that the secondary drain port was not properly plugged, which could have led to potential drainage issues. The customer had already taken initiative to blow out and clean the drain line prior to my arrival, which helped restore proper drainage. After verifying the system, all components were found to be operating as intended, and the system is currently running properly with no further issues observed at this time. Additionally, discussed air quality and routine maintenance with the customer. The customer expressed interest in scheduling their next maintenance service. Advised that we will coordinate with the operations manager in the morning to determine availability and will follow up promptly to get their maintenance scheduled. Customer stated they will monitor the system and contact us if any further issues arise. S
5 stars!
Arrived on site and performed a comprehensive inspection of the entire system. The unit is approximately two years old. All electrical components, wiring, and overall equipment condition were thoroughly checked. At this time, the system is operating within manufacturer specifications with no visible signs of malfunction, wear, or performance issues. The only recommendations at this time are to address the vent pipe, as it is currently not installed to code, and to consider adding surge protection to the system to help safeguard the equipment from potential electrical damage. Customer thought we were the company that put the system in Customer may have a maintenance agreement with the other company. He is calling to check at this time.
