What are the most common air conditioner problems you fix?
If your air conditioner isn’t quite right, you might be noticing some familiar issues:
- It’s running, but not cooling effectively: This is a frequent complaint. We’ll figure out why it’s not delivering the cold air you expect.
- You’re seeing ice or leaks around your unit: This often points to a refrigerant leak or issues that cause frozen coils, which need immediate attention.
- Your thermostat isn’t working right: Sometimes the problem isn’t the unit itself, but the controls. We can diagnose and fix thermostat malfunctions.
- It’s making unusual noises: Grinding, banging, or persistent humming are never good signs and usually signal internal mechanical problems.
Expert Tip: If your current HVAC system is over 10 years old and giving you trouble, a new, energy-efficient model could actually save you more money in the long run through lower utility bills and improved performance. It’s often a smart investment!

What are the typical signs that my water heater needs attention?
We’ve seen it all when it comes to water heater issues. If you notice any of these, it’s time to call us:
- No hot water, or it takes ages to heat up: This often means a failed heating element (for electric units) or sediment buildup in the tank.
- Water leaking around the tank: This can be a serious sign of a corroded tank, a faulty pressure relief valve, or loose connections needing immediate attention.
- Strange noises like popping, banging, or rumbling: These usually mean mineral deposits have accumulated inside the tank, making it work harder and less efficiently.
- Hot water temperature keeps fluctuating: This issue is typically related to a malfunctioning thermostat or a failing dip tube.
- Your hot water looks rusty or smells odd: This often points to internal tank corrosion or a worn-out anode rod.

System wasn't running upon arrival. Thermostat was calling but not heating. Checked wiring and program and put thermostat back on the wall. System began to operate and was displaying faults. Ran for ten minutes then lowered desired temp. System shut off and then increased the desired temp to make sure it would operate again. It kicked back on and began heating. The thermostat is ether faulty or was not secured to the wall plate well. If customer experiences this again, I would recommend replacing the thermostat. Due to road and weather conditions, I was not able to stay long and almost got stuck on customers road due to snow. I need to get with management and stock truck. Returned Monday to replace faulty thermostat from the factory. After replacing the thermostat, I observed the heat operation. The unit did kick on and begin Heating. It reached its set point and turned off at which time I opened the front door and back door. So that the new thermostat would drop naturally and kick
Installation of new spark igniter/thermocouple/Thermo pile on the gas logs. This comes in a pre-fabricated set up where one part can’t be changed alone, but has to be changed and it’s entirety.
Installation of 3.5-ton gas package unit Replaced pad, disconnect, whip, thermostat. Reconnected 12" crossover. Built new flashing. Verified operation in heating mode. System is operational at time of departure.
System is an old oil furnace and will need a new burner Primary safety control kit because the kit has been bypassed in the past to keep it running and this is all the safety features for the furnace to burn safely and for us to do the work this will have to be replaced. Customer also needs a Beckett Geni sys 7505 model this is a module that will control the ignition and everything for the furnace, it will also need a new transformer and a vent cleaning before it can safely run. Customer needed to just replaced the system with a new furnace, so I gave her a quote for a new furnace only and a quote for a new furnace and AC three-piece. The customer could not come up with that kind of money nor could she get approved for that type of ticket so she is seeing what her mother can help her come up with as far as the service to get the existing furnace on, and that will depend on whether the company wants to rebuild an old furnace. The supplies and parts that it will take for the service was

Arrived at customers house, customer explained his thermostat has been given him issues for the past two months. I go to look at the thermostat and notice a 4-digit Lock Screen that nobody in the house know that got there. I figured the 4-digit code 1234 and that unlocked the screen but then everything that could be shown on the thermostat was showing. I called the office, and system is under 10-year parts and 2-year labor and the thermostat in question is an old Aire Serv thermostat. It was decided labor charge would be applied to the 39-dollar service call. Heating and cooling were both checked at time thermostat was installed.
Arrived on site to diagnose why systems are not cooling. Found that both units had low refrigerant due to leaking evaporator coils. Tech quoted customer for replacement evaporator coils, duct cleaning/replacement, and a new disconnect. Customer agreed to have coils and disconnect replaced and ducts cleaned. Staff to follow up with client to set up payment plan.
Arrived at customers house, waited 30 mins. And in that 30mins I knocked on the door and rang the doorbell multiple times. Also called both numbers listed in service titan. Spoke with Sean before I left. Arrived today to diagnose the systems, both systems has a leak in the evap coil, recommended to repair, ran credit she didn't have enough. she will talk to her daughter to see if she can cox for her. She paid the $39 today.
Customers vents and ducts are sealed very well, duct system is close to 30 years old. Recommended a re engineered new duct system.
Arrived today to diagnose the system, drain line looked it was clogged, so it made some damage in the ceiling. Checked filters and they were so dirty. Pressures are fine now. Told the ppl are living in the house to keep an eye on the drain pan since its sitting in a closet.
Replace and reattached 10 inch crossover run. Blow out condensate line, ran unit and confirmed drainage.
Arrived on site to diagnose issues with system. Found that ductwork and drain line were not properly connected, and ensured that an install crew would be out in the morning to repair all issues with system.
Customer was unresponsive. I did arrive and pick up the leftover trash we will have to return to replace the thermostat on a maintenance or at a different point in time. New pictures uploaded into service Titan please register equipment the first condenser had to be swapped out due to a broken straighter valve.
Model and serial numbers located in service Titan as well as pictures ductwork and equipment. Unable to finish install due to duct modifications need to be done and would have to return tomorrow anyway. We will need a 21x21x24 or as close to it as you can get supply plenum a 12-in tap two 10-in taps. We'll also need 8 to 10 ft of 12-in flex as well as 10 to 12 in and the same for 10-in Flex. We'll also need installation and a full sheet of sheet metal for duct modifications original coil is a 30 plus inch slab coil up and down measurement on the existing supply plenum is only 19 inches but 30 plus inches across. We'll also need a cinder block or two to support the new evaporator coil. We were able to get the outdoor unit set braised in flushed the indoor evaporator is under the home with everything needed to install it unfortunately couldn't get it under the ductwork and when we start taking apart duct work we may end up causing a mess. Plus we would need the block to even set the coi
Arrived on site to diagnose why customer’s system was not cooling. Found that compressor had shorted out and a system replacement was required (old system was R-22). Tech quoted customer for a new 3.5 Ton AC Condenser + Evaporator Coil, as well as the entire system. Customer agreed to have condenser and evaporator coil replaced.
The technician and his helper were great.
Need to return to replace outdoor unit bc we were given the wrong unit. Returned to replaced 3 phase outdoor unit with single phase. Replaced Air handler in closet. Installed float switch. Built wood brace for the air handler to sit on. Was receiving between an 18 and 20 degree split between the return and supply side of the unit. System is operational at time of departure.
I preformed a tune up at this location and presented with surge protection, Easy Start, fan motor, high performance Filter, and coil sterilizer. Wife is going to talk these over with the husband.
Mr.Mark was very polite and patient. He answered all of my questions and appeared very knowledgeable. Excellent customer service.
3 ton heat pump air handler located in the hall closet. Does look to be some issues with the sub for may need to bring some 2x4s and Sheet Metal. Condenser located on the right hand side of the home in the backyard easiest access would be to pull into the driveway as far as you can and walk it around the house. Customer was approved through greensky for $18,000. She has to talk to her husband said that that's a lot of monthly payments and the price is slightly higher than normal. I did inform the customer that we could install the system on Monday, but we would need a confirmation before 12:00 today July 17th, 2025, to be able to order the equipment and material as well as booking the appointment before something else comes up and we have to book the appointment of the customer that accepts first. I will be following back up with the customer around 12:00 today she is talking to her husband and looking for that email.
Excellent Service!
I found a mini split at this location which seems to be low on refrigerant. The only way to determine this is to pull refrigerant out and weigh it back in correctly. The customer declined this method due to the not able to guarantee this is a fix. He also declined the I stalling of a new system for $7987. He said the whole studio apartment didn't cost that much. He said he would go a different route.
Arrived today to finish up with the install. Replaced thermostat, refuse existing wire thermostat, charged system up to 5lbs of r32 freon, tested ac tu.
7.5 ton hp/ah 3PHASE 15kw heater kit new t-stat new drain pan safety switch indoor scissor lift including everything that is needed to install the equipment.

Arrived on site to provide an estimate for a new 2 ton Heat Pump. Tech quoted customer 8987 for a complete system replacement.
Arrived on site to diagnose why customer was feeling cool air coming out of evaporator coil. Found that the front of the evaporator coil was not sealed and was causing a small amount of air to be lost. Tech sealed evaporator coil on the front and sides to ensure that no air was lost. System remained operational upon departure and was producing a 19 degree temperature split.
